My 6-year-old's team only uses the infield. Nothing like watching 16 (yes they ALL take the field) little kids ALL run to the ball when it is hit... I say ignore your son and continue to support the kids that are out there having fun. At some point he's likely to realize he's missing out on something? Kids are ALWAYS better behaved for someone else. Too bad you didn't have a co-coach who could be in charge of Luke during games and practices.
